Step #1
You’ll need to complete these 7 steps just once.
These steps will help you mix the solution which must go into your AquaCure before it can be used. The steps must be done in the order shown here (from 1 to 7).
With proper preparation the entire process of mixing the solution, which goes into your AquaCure, should only take you a few minutes.
Go to step #2.
Step #2
Remove the black cap from the top of your AquaCure, and by using the appropriate funnel (included with your AquaCure) carefully pour 5 cups of hot tap water into it.
Let the water sit in it for 5 to 10 minutes. Tilting the machine from front to back can improve the result.
Then, take your AquaCure to the nearest sink and dump the tap water into it. This should remove any ‘staleness’ and/or water spots from shipping.
Now, please put on rubber gloves and safety glasses (both are included with your AquaCure). Go to step #3.
Step #3
Please get:
– One glass container for mixing. We find a 1−quart mason jar works great.
– 3 cups of distilled water.
– 1 tablespoon (often supplied in your kit).
– One glass container which can hold 6 tablespoons of lye.
– One stainless steel or plastic stirring item (e.g. a knife, a spoon).
The above containers must be made out of glass. Do not use the 1 litre Drinking Water Bubbler that came with your AquaCure to mix the solution which goes into your AquaCure. Go to step #4.
Step #4
Fill the larger glass container with 3 cups of distilled water.
Take those glass containers, the stirring item, and the lye container (which came with your AquaCure) to a well-ventilated outdoor area (e.g. a deck, a balcony, your backyard, etc.).
If you’re on a balcony, please place the above items on a tray that won’t be damaged by lye spills (e.g. a stainless steel or plastic tray will do). Go to step #5.
Step #5
Measure out 6 tablespoons of lye into the smaller glass container.
While stirring, slowly pour those 6 tablespoons of lye into the container with distilled water.
Please note: As you start mixing the lye and distilled water, the glass container may become hot to the touch.
This is a normal reaction. It may also emit noxious fumes for a few minutes as the lye mixes with the distilled water. Please try not to breathe in the fumes, as they may irritate your throat.
Keep stirring this mix (aka electrolyte solution) so that the lye wouldn’t fall to the bottom and settle there. If this happens, please stir until the lye is completely dissolved.
You’ve now mixed the solution — congrats! ✅ Was that easy peasy or what? Now, please go to step #6.
Step #6
Leave the solution (outdoors) for an hour or so to become transparent, and to cool down.
Go to step #7.
Step #7
Carefully take the mixed solution to your AquaCure.
Remove the black cap from the top of your AquaCure, and by using the appropriate funnel (included with your AquaCure — see image below) carefully pour the mixed solution into your AquaCure.
Add 2 cups of distilled water to the machine.
You’re minutes away from using your AquaCure — yay!! 🏆
Now, please go to the ‘Tower Cap’ section of your user manual to continue.
(BTW, keeping the fluid level as close as possible to the ‘full’ line on the machine will ensure you get the best HydrOxy production. This will also increase the life of the machine. We recommend checking the above fluid level after every 10 hours of use.)
