Combustible

Hydroxy is combustible at concentrations of 4% or higher.  Though this is relatively safe outside of the body, it is absolutely not recommended to have a concentration close to or exceeding 4% Hydroxy within your body.

Because of the risk of combustion, we also do not recommend using any kind of glass container when bubbling your water.

Keep any open flame away from where the Hydroxy leaves the system and mixes with the environment.

* Do not inhale a concentration of Hydroxy that is too high
** Do not use Hydroxy within your ear canals
*** Do not use Hydroxy for insufflation
**** Do not intentionally ignite Hydroxy at its output

Corrosive

We use Lye as our electrolyte.  Lye (sodium hydroxide, caustic soda, or NaOH) is a corrosive alkali.  Lye needs to be handled safely, and protective equipment (gloves and safety glasses) should be worn to prevent direct contact.

If any lye gets on your skin, rinse it under water until any soapy feeling is completely gone.  If any lye gets in your eyes, rinse thoroughly with water for 5 minutes.  If irritation persists, call poison control.

Lye can also be neutralized with an acid, like vinegar or citrus juice.  However, do not use this method if lye gets in your eyes.

To prevent splashing when mixing the lye solution, pour the distilled water first before adding the lye powder.

Only use lye (NaOH) with the PureONE.  KOH (potassium hydroxide) is more caustic and can also cause internal damage to the PureONE.

Grounding / Static

Because of the combustibility of hydrogen, the PureONE must be grounded.  Always use a power cord and outlet with a ground.

Though the risk is relatively low, it is possible for a static shock to ignite the gas within the bottle, hoses / cannula, or application accessories being used.  As the PureONE is grounded through the outlet, simply touching the metal body of the PureONE will neutralize any static charge that you carry.

If static is a concern (especially in winter), touching the PureONE before touching the bottles, hoses, or any accessories with gas flowing through will negate any risk.
