Assembly Instructions

Assembly Steps
*See detailed instructions in the next section below

You will need:

  • The blue Purifier Bottles that came with your PureONE
  • A glass jar or container capable of holding 750ml (rinse well with hot tap water)
  • A stainless steel butter knife, or branded stir stick, to mix the lye solution
  • 1 PureONE electrolyte packet
  • Scissors to open packet
  • Rubber gloves
  • Safety glasses or the Eye Treatment Goggles
  • 1 gallon of distilled water

1) Rinse the PureONE with hot water

2) Mix the Lye Solution – click here to See the “Mixing Lye” insert or the image below. This is very important.

3) Fill both Purifier Bottles with distilled water

4) Fill the Infusion Bottle with any water

5) Connecting the Purifiers and Infusion Bottles

6) Plug in the PureONE and enjoy.

Assembly Instructions

1) Rinsing the PureONE with hot water

* To make sure no residue or staleness is inside your PureONE before filling it with lye solution, we recommend giving it a quick rinse first.

  1. Measure and pour 6 cups of hot tap water into your PureONE using the provided Pouring Funnel.
  2. Tip the PureONE 45º forwards for 5-10 seconds, or until the viewing window is completely full.
  3. Tip the PureONE 45º backwards for 5-10 seconds, or until the viewing window is completely empty.
  4. After tipping it forward and back a few times, drain all of the water from your PureONE.

2) Mixing the Lye Solution

Regarding contamination:

  • Plastic / wood is porous and can absorb oils into its surface.  We recommend using either brand-new plastic cutlery or exceptionally clean stainless steel to stir the lye solution.

*Before mixing your lye solution, prepare yourself with personal protective equipment.  We include gloves with every PureONE, and the Eye Treatment Goggles can be used as eye protection.

**Lye dissolving into water is an exothermic reaction (producing heat as it dissolves).  Using room temperature water, or even chilled water, is recommended.

***Lye can also release noxious fumes as it dissolves.  We recommend mixing your lye solution outdoors or in a well ventilated or ducted area, such as by a window with outward airflow or under a strong stove fan that vents to the outdoors.

****Lye will form a hard mass if it settles in water before dissolving.  This then takes longer to dissolve.

To Mix the lye solution and Fill your PureONE. (please follow the lye Manual)

  1. Pour 3 cups of distilled water into your glass container.
  2. While stirring continuously, gradually add 1 full pouch of lye to the water.
  3. Continue stirring until all lye is dissolved.
  4. Let the lye solution sit until the water has cleared.
  5. Pour the solution into the PureONE.
  6. Top up your PureONE with 3 more cups of distilled water.

Though 6 cups of water may not fill your PureONE completely, we recommend using your PureONE as is until the refill light comes on to avoid overfilling your PureONE.

*Important Note*

-Only ever use NaOH (sodium hydroxide).  DO NOT use KOH (potassium hydroxide).  DO NOT use any other electrolyte as a substitute for NaOH.

Place the clear Acrylic Bottle Holder on top of your PureOne.  The opening of the PureONE will fit through the small hole of the bracket and the 2 larger holes in the bracket will hang off the left side to the left of your PureONE (when looking at the front).

The electrolyzer cap will secure the bracket when it’s screwed on.

Seal the PureONE with the Black Electrolyzer Cap.  The Black Cap will also secure the Acrylic Bottle Holder in place.

The Acrylic Bottle Holder will give some resistance to the Black Cap as you screw it on.  Make sure to continue screwing the Black Cap until it is “hand tight.”

3) Filling the Purifiers

The PureONE has 3 stages of gas purification.  The first stage is a stainless steel vapor condenser inside the PureONE to remove as much contaminated moisture from the gas.  This stage can be left as is.

The second and stages are the blue 750 mL bottles.  We recommend filling both purifiers to an inch under full to prevent “bleed-over” from accidental overfills.

***Only ever use distilled water in the 2 purifiers***

4) Filling the Infusion Bottle

Any water can be used inside the Infusion Bottle.

Do not overfill the Infusion Bottle.  The pressure inside the Infusion Bottle increases when the gas production is turned on, so any extra water in the Infusion Bottle will be forced up and out of the nasal cannula.

* Though any water can be used for infusion, Hydrogen has the odd effect of making impurities in water taste more “flavorful.”  If your pallet is more sensitive and this bothers you, try using filtered or distilled water.

5) Connecting the Purifiers and Infusion Bottles

Connect the hose from the back of the PureONE by removing the black silicone plug(keeping it for future use) and plugging in the hose end to the back blue bottle. If the O logo it facing out the inlet will be on the left side of the logo.

Using the shortest Connection Hose, connect the outlet of the 1st Purifier to the inlet of the 2nd Purifier.

Using another Connection Hose, connect the outlet from the 2nd Purifier to the inlet of the Infusion Bottle.

* The lids on the second Purifier and the Infusion Bottle have an inlet and an outlet.  The inlet is the same hose connector (on the top of the lid) that also has the Diffusion connected underneath it.  The outlet is the hose connector that does not have the Diffusion Stone connected to it.

** If you connect the connecting hose to the wrong fitting on the Infusion Bottle lid, the pressure of gas will force water up through the Diffusion Stone and out of the other hose fitting – thus either spraying water or filling your cannula with water.

6) Plug in the PureONE and enjoy!

Connect the provided power cord to the back of the PureONE and plug it into a wall outlet. Begin your journey.

*important note*

Lye turns into soap when in contact with oils and fats.  This causes foam to form within the PureONE.

If your PureONE goes into high level alarm about 20 to 30 seconds after startup, you might have foam.

To test, please remove the Blue bottles and remove the holder by unscrewing the black cap. Place a towel around the electrolyzer opening. Then turn on the PureONE and watch for the same 20 to 30 seconds for foam to start to come out the top. Please stand back as the mist that emits can make you cough.

If you see foam, stop the machine immediately.

If foam comes up, dispose of your lye solution and thoroughly rinse out your PureONE.  You’ll then need to make a new batch of lye solution while taking extra care to only use extremely clean (fat free and soap free) containers and tools while also making sure that no contaminants fall into the lye solution.
