PureONE Applications
- Inhalation
- Infusing water for drinking
- Infusing water for external applications
- Direct external application of Brown’s gas
Choosing the Duty% (Gas Production)
**IMPORTANT**
Setting Duty% and risks
– Hydrogen is very flammable, and, with the presence of both hydrogen and oxygen, Brown’s gas is very explosive.
– There’s very little risk to injury if Brown’s gas ignites outside of your body, but:
– Due to the flammability and explosiveness of Brown’s gas, concentrations of higher than 4% BG should not be inhaled. This percentage refers to the “in-lung concentration” of Brown’s gas
– Brown’s gas is therapeutic even at low concentrations. To ensure safety, we recommend an “in-lung concentration” of about 2% (see equation in “Inhaling Brown’s Gas” below).
– With any external application (when using the Treatment Goggles, Target Applicator, the Treatment Sleeves, or simply infusing water while also NOT inhaling), the Duty can be set to 100%
1) Inhaling Brown’s Gas
It’s important to note that:
- Hydrogen is combustible at concentrations of 4% or higher of the total gas/air volume.
- Hydrogen is therapeutic at concentrations between 1-4%.
- When inhaling Brown’s gas, breathe normally. There is no need to focus on breathing deeply. Breathing too deeply for too long can cause light-headedness or headaches, regardless if you’re inhaling Brown’s gas or not.
- Your blood will eventually become saturated with hydrogen, which means the blood is holding as much hydrogen as is possible.
Increasing the total concentration of hydrogen (with a higher Duty% / gas production) will not increase the total hydrogen you can absorb.
The only result of increasing the concentration is decreasing the time it takes to saturate your blood with hydrogen.
________
Also, it is not uncommon for someone to experience detox symptoms when they first start inhaling hydrogen. The likelihood and severity of this will depend on the individual.
To avoid detox symptoms (bloating, digestion issues, head ache, rash, etc), we recommend starting with 2-5 minute inhalation sessions and slowly increasing the length each session. Once one can inhale for 20 minutes without issue, one should be able to increase their session lengths with no further problems.
Using the Nasal Cannula
To use the nasal cannula:
- Connect the end of the cannula to the gas outlet of the second Purifier Bottle.
- Approaching from the front of your face, insert the nasal prongs of the cannula into your nose (with the prongs pointing down).
- Grab the hoses on both sides of the nasal prongs and hook them over your ears.
You can also choose to connect the Infusion Bottle to the second Purifier and then connect your cannula to the output of the Infusion Bottle. You can do this if you’d like to infuse your drinking water as you inhale the gas.
______
We recommend a concentration of 2% hydrogen within your lungs during inhalation therapy. This concentration of gas is well within the safe margin and it will saturate your blood within 15-20 minutes.
Doubling your recommended Duty% (gas production) will bring the total in-lung concentration of hydrogen close to 4%, at which point the gas / air in your lungs can become combustible. We absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND this.
To determine your Duty% needed to approximate a concentration of 2% within your lungs during inhalation:
- In lbs (pounds): Divide your weight by 5
Example: 170 lbs / 5 = 34% Duty - In kg (kilograms): Multiply your weight by 2.2 and divide that by 5
Example: 77.5 kg x 2.2 / 5 = 34% Duty
______
After determining your ideal Duty% (gas production) for inhalation, you can turn on your timer, adjust your Duty%, and begin inhaling Brown’s gas.
2) Infusing Water for Drinking
*Important Note: Only drink the water in the Infusion Bottle. NEVER drink the water in the Purifiers (blue bottles).
Your drinking water can be infused by itself, during external applications of Brown’s gas, or while you inhale. See “4) Using Brown’s Gas Externally” below for examples.
To fully infuse water, it takes 10 minutes of bubbling at 100% duty per liter of water.
Infusing water (while not using your PureONE’s other applications)
- Set the timer for 10 minutes.
- Set the Duty% to 100%.
- When the timer stops, your water is ready.
Infusing water during external application of the PureONE
- As the duty% will be set to 100% for external applications, your water will be ready within 10 minutes.
- You can either use your drinking water after 10 minutes or you can use it after your external treatment.
Infusing water while inhaling Brown’s gas
- To determine how long it will take your water to fully saturate with Brown’s gas during your inhalation session:
– Divide the number “10” by “0.[your duty%] and multiply that by how many litres
of water you are infusing.
Examples:
10 minutes / 0.50 (50% duty) x 1L = 20 minutes
10 minutes / 1.00 (100% duty) x 4L = 40 minutes
10 minutes / 0.34 (34% duty) x 1L = 29 minutes
10 minutes / 0.34 (34% duty) x 4L = 118 minutes
3) Using Infused Water Externally
With the PureONE, you can use one of the Connection Hoses and a spare Diffusion Stone to infuse water in any container (within 2.25 ft of depth. Anything deeper will cause the PureONE to shut off due to overpressure).
Quick note: cold water holds more dissolved gas than hot water. In warm / hot water applications, we recommend infusing the water as it’s being used.
1. Infusing Bath Water / Foot Bath
- Using a longer hose with the Diffusion Stone on the end and the other end connected to the gas outlet on the Infusion Bottle, place the stone into your bath water and turn on the gas production at 100% duty.
- While bathing, place the bubbling stone so that the bubbles travel across the area you’d like to treat. This will give you the best rate of hydrogen absorption.
2. Direct Topical Application
- If you’d like to treat a very specific area, you can tape a piece of gauze to the area and keep it saturated with infused water.
4) Using Brown’s Gas Externally
*Hydrogen increases blood flow. This can cause areas being treated to throb*
1. Using the Target Applicator
- Connect a Connection Hose (4ft or 7ft) to the output of the Infusion Bottle.
- Insert the free end of that hose into the small opening of the spot applicator.
- Expand the spot applicator into its funnel shape.
- Use the adjustable strap on the spot applicator to secure it over the area you’d like to treat.
- Set the duty% to 100% and start the timer to begin treatment.
2. Using the Arm and Leg Sleeve
- Connect a Connection Hose (4ft or 7ft) to the output of the Infusion Bottle.
- Insert your arm or leg into the appropriate sleeve.
- Insert the free end of the Connection Hose into the sleeve and through to the end of the sleeve (ie, down to your feet or hands. Insert the hose as far as it goes)
- Use the provided rubber band to loosely seal the sleeve around your limb.
***Do not seal the sleeve tightly, you don’t want to build pressure within the sleeve***
- Set the duty% to 100% and start the timer to begin treatment.
3. Using the Eye Treatment Goggles
- Connect a Connection Hose (4ft or 7ft) to the output of the Infusion Bottle.
- Connect the free end of the Connection Hose to the Eye Treatment Goggles.
- Set the duty% to 100% and start the timer to begin treatment.
